“Devotion Takes Its Toll,” explores Teather’s contemplations on devotion, its joy, and its pain. The 7-tracks run the gamut of genres, from bouncy synth-pop to experimental, basement club, with Teather’s insular production style and distinctive vocal tone making each track entirely her own. This project showcases Teather’s best production work, from the inventive vocal sampling in Preoccupied to the earworm synth lines in Be With Me. This project is a gratifying, sonically adventurous experiment in dreamy, neo-club pop music.
